Secondhand Snoots is a foster based animal rescue, we do not have a shelter location. This means that our adoptable pets are located in private foster homes and are not available for unscheduled visits.
Meet and greets can only be schedule after an adoption application has been approved.

In order to adopt from Secondhand Snoots Rescue, you must:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and able show a driver’s license or other government-issued identification.

  • All members of the household must be in agreement about adopting and be available for the meet and greet.

  • Renters will need landlord verification to have pets or to have additional pets.

  • Other animals residing in the home must be spayed/neutered, unless medically unable to have the surgery,
and they must be current on their vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella)

  • We do not adopt out "outdoor pets," our animals are meant to be companions living in homes.

  • Adoption approval is at the sole discretion of Secondhand Snoots Rescue's Board of Directors and applications may be denied for any reason.

We want our adoptions to be great fits for both the pet and people, therefore you may not be able to adopt the pet that you originally applied for. We will work with you to find the right companion for your lifestyle so that you can all live happily ever after.

All of our available pets have been micro-chipped, received their core age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered (if over 6-months old and they are clear for surgery), dewormed, heartworm / FIV / FeLV - tested, and treated for any medical conditions or injuries that they present with. Any know medical or behavioral conditions will be discussed prior to scheduling a meet and greet.

Our adoption fees are non-refundable, please review our return policy at. Please be understanding, we are an all-volunteer organization and for that reason, the adoption process can take anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending on the number of applications we are processing at the time and the availability of volunteers in your area.

Secondhand Snoots Rescue makes no guarantees about the health or behavior of any animals. Receipt of the adoption application, completion of reference checks or the home visit does not obligate Secondhand Snoots Rescue to finalize any adoption or place an animal in any home; nor does completion of the application obligate the applicant to finalize the adoption. Adoptions are finalized at the sole final discretion of Secondhand Snoots Rescue's Board of Directors.

Adoption fees are payable by cash, check, credit card, PayPal or Chase QuickPay.
